Opened your pack and feel there’s far more fat than you expected? Some fat is essential for flavour and tenderness, but we understand there’s a point where it can feel excessive.
Fat on meat – what’s normal
- Many cuts naturally have a fat cap or marbling that helps with flavour and juiciness when cooked
- Some products on our site are shown with visible fat in the photos, and this is part of what you’re buying
However, you shouldn’t feel like a big portion of your pack is just fat you have to trim away.
When fat becomes “too much”
We’d consider fat excessive if:
- You have to trim away a large amount of hard, unusable fat to get to the meat
- The overall proportion of meat to fat looks unreasonable for that cut
If you’ve received something that doesn’t match what you expected, we’d like to see it.
How we’ll help
After assessing your photos and order:
- We’ll confirm whether the fat level is within the usual range for that cut or clearly outside what we intend to supply
- If it’s outside our standard, we will arrange an appropriate resolution.
Your feedback helps us fine‑tune our trimming standards and quality checks.
